The garden is one of the most organic places in our home. It’s also where I spend most of my free time. Don’t think I’m staying there just to daydream!
That no !
I empty everything I have useless inside the house, to make original decorations. I would like to share some of my decorating ideas with you.
It is not at all difficult to empty your cellar, to raze your attic, without forgetting damaged buckets, pots and watering cans, and wrought iron objects. The question that comes to mind with difficulty is “what can these old objects still be useful for?” “. And yet, if we took a little time to think about it, we would certainly imagine beautiful things with recycled wood, plastic and even wrought iron. Here are some ideas for decorating your organic garden, just with recycled objects.
- Decorate your garden with recycled wooden objects
Among the objects to recycle in wood, we can cite: old branches found in the garden, old boards, old furniture, tree stumps, kitchen spatulas, etc. Let’s imagine the wonders that can be created with it.
- The first phase will consist of cleaning the wooden object with bleach, in order to rid it of dust. Sand it if necessary. Avoid toxic cleaning products that you find in commercial stores.
- Now place the object in a corner of the garden in its natural form or decorating it with flowers dug up from the same garden; you can also opt to repaint the object. The old spatulas could be transformed into a directional sign in the garden, once repainted and identified. A tree stump could become a seat, on which we add the back of an old chair for example, or simply by placing a large round board on it, to transform it into a rustic table (for breakfast for example). The old boards could also be used as a stepladder to place flower pots on, or as an entrance fence to an area of your garden.
- Decorate the garden with plastic objects
Plastic objects are not left out. An old watering can, once decorated with paint and pretty designs, can become a flower pot. An old bucket, combined with old cups, can become a set of beautifully decorated pots (large, medium, small), in which you will display the most beautiful flowers from your garden. And why don’t you use a nicely remodeled and cut trash bucket as a sink in your garden. All you have to do is call a plumber to install a faucet, and that’s it.
- Decorate your garden with metal objects
The particularity of metal is that it can be used for years. Here are some examples of decorations with these metal objects taken out of your attic.
- An old metal bed, cleaned and repainted, will serve as an armchair for relaxation. We will just take care to adapt a small mattress, with one or two pillows, which we will remove in the evening to protect them from the rain.
- The upper part of your old metal bed will serve well as a gate for the entrance to the nursery area of your garden.
- An old lamp post planted in a wooden stump would light up your beautiful garden at night!
